June 2020 Update for Preceptors and Applicants

Please click here to read an important message from CBNC regarding COVID-19 and how it relates to Training for imaging and localization studies.

Recertification Lapse

As of March 2020, for individuals who have allowed their certification(s) to lapse and who wish to regain Diplomate status for the certification(s), a fee of $250, per examination, will be assessed following receipt of a passing score on the desired recertification examination(s).

Program Verification Update Required

CBNC has made adjustments to the required program verification document to further assure adherence to documentation requirements issued by the NRC. As of June 1, 2020, ALL program verification letters will be marked as expired and therefore will not be shown in the preceptor lookup below. All current and future preceptors attesting to the training of CBNC Candidates must complete and submit the recently amended 2020 CBNC Program Verification Document. This update is required to ensure that proper CLT training is being administered, attended and documented. We will update the Preceptor Lookup below as new letters are received. If you do not see your preceptor in our database, a new letter has not yet been provided. In order to submit a program verification document, please login to your MyAPCA portal, select the MY RESOURCES tab, and click on the MY CBNC Preceptor Portal Link. You will then be able to complete and submit the form online. Please allow for 5-7 business days for staff to review and approve of your documentation.

Preceptor Attestation Template Update

Due to updated requirements requested by NRC in 2020, CBNC made important updates to our US Formal Pathway Preceptor Letter template.   *ALL US CANDIDATES MUST USE THIS 2020 TEMPLATE OR INCLUDE THIS NEW LANGUAGE IN THEIR SUBMITTED LETTER.*  Previous versions of this letter cannot be accepted. Returning Candidates must present this version of the letter. All other CBNC Candidates are strongly encouraged to use the CBNC templates as they have been crafted to address all the required information needed for approval.

Examination Administration Vendor

Beginning in 2017 the CBNC Certification and Recertification Examinations will be administered by Pearson VUE testing centers located throughout the U.S. and abroad. To take a virtual tour of a Pearson VUE testing center click here. For additional information about Pearson VUE security and identification procedures click here.

For International Candidates – if there are no Pearson VUE testing centers within a reasonable distance to your location, you may be able to schedule your examination at a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center, which may be closer. Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers are privately owned, third-party testing facilities which provide on-site testing for certification and professional licensure exams. Available centers will be listed when you schedule at www.pearsonvue.com/apca. Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers usually operate during regular business hours. However, some centers may have evening or weekend appointments available. For test center availability, log in to your Pearson VUE account or find a Pearson VUE representative at www.pearsonvue.com/apca/contact.
